Indian TSU professor emeritus embellishes international award
Satish C. Goyal, a retired vice chancellor of the JNV University, Jodhpur, India, and a professor emeritus of Tri-State University, recently announced that he has increased an annual international award given by the Satish Kunti Goyal Foundation to eminent educators-authors.
Goyal established the Kunti Goyal International Award in 1994 in memory of his wife, who was known in the couple’s hometown of Jodhpur for helping create a Sri Rama temple in the community’s public gardens. The first award was for $500 and the 2001 award was increased to $1,000. For this coming school year, which begins next Tuesday (Aug. 20), Goyal has increased the award to $2,000 for 2003.
The award recognizes authors of literature who produce an original work in either Hindi or English (translations into these languages are accepted) that deals with philosophical thought in one or more of the major religions.
Entries for the next Kunti Goyal International Award must be submitted by Oct. 31, 2003. Entries, as well as any questions regarding the format and content of the entries, should be directed to Professor Goyal at 46 Anselm Way, Sudbury, MA, 01776; (978) 579-0974 or to his address and phone in India at 1 Residency Road, Jodhpur, Rajasthan 342 001, India; (291) 431344.
