The 43^rd annual edition of the Northeastern Indiana Tri-State Regional Science Fair will be held Saturday, March 15, in Tri-State University’s Hershey Hall. This year’s fair will include over 300 projects by elementary and secondary students from five northeast Indiana counties. The event will be open to the public from 1-4 PM.

Students in grades 1-12 from DeKalb, Noble, LaGrange, Steuben, and St. Joseph county schools have created the projects chosen to participate. Top projects may receive place awards and/or special awards from area and national organizations and governmental agencies. Five senior division projects and three junior division projects will be chosen to compete in the Hoosier Science and Engineering Fair, to be held in Indianapolis on April 4. Two senior division projects will be selected to go on to the International Science and Engineering Fair, which will be held this year in Cleveland, OH.

"Many people including teachers, business people, and Tri-State University faculty and staff are responsible for the success of the Regional Science Fair," said Ann Benson, Tri-State University chair and associate professor science and one of the fair’s organizers. "We owe a big thank you to them all."

The fair is sponsored by Tri-State University in conjunction with business and industry in Dekalb, Noble, LaGrange, and Steuben counties.

Tri-State University is an independent, co-educational institution offering associate, baccalaureate and master degrees in over 40 undergraduate programs to students in engineering, mathematics, science, computer science, business administration, teacher education, communications, criminal justice and social sciences. Founded in 1884, Tri-State today operates a 485-acre main campus in Angola, IN, with off-campus centers in Fort Wayne, South Bend and Merrillville, IN.
