To-do list for Tri-State University International admission

International students who wish to attend Tri-State University must complete the following steps.

Failure to complete ALL the steps will delay the admission process.

Apply online. No paper applications from international students will be accepted.

Send secondary academic records to WES (World Education Services; www.wes.org) for conversion to a US grade point average. An application form and street address for WES can be found on the Tri-State University web site (www.tristate.edu) under International Admission. Transcripts sent directly to Tri-State University will not be reviewed.

Send post secondary education records to WES. Only classes completed with a grade of C or better will be considered for transfer credits. (Post secondary education completed in the US does not have to be reviewed by WES.)

Send one of the following test scores to TSU:

  • TOEFL
  • SAT
  • ACT

Secure a statement of financial guarantee. This statement must prove that the applicant has access to funds totaling a minimum of $26,000 US dollars. Acceptable documents include bank and stock account statements.

After Tri-State University receives the above documents, the international applicant will be reviewed for a conditional acceptance.

Upon conditional acceptance, mail US $1,500 to Tri-State University. Official acceptance will be granted when the University receives the one-time fee.

(After the fee is received, a student will be issued an I-20, which is required to gain an F-1 Student Visa. If the student is denied an F-1 Visa, they may return their I-20 and receive a full refund of their fee.)

REMINDER: Please allow several months before the beginning of classes to complete the items on the to-do list.
