Media and Materials
The Kostyshak Educational Media & Resource Center is located on the main floor of the Perry T. Ford Library and is available to all education majors for help in preparing for classroom assignments and school practicums. The EMRC houses a collection of textbooks, curriculum guides, current educational journals and resource books. Other materials, such as math manipulatives, science equipment, kits, games, records, cassettes, video tapes and other instructional materials are also available.

Located in the Department of Education classroom are three multimedia computers and various instructional and educational computer programs and software for student use.

In addition there are currently three computers in the Media Center set up for general lab use. Some audiovisual equipment is available for the preparation of teaching materials and previewing as well.

Libraries

Perry T. Ford Library
In addition to the resources in the Educational Media & Resource Center, the Perry T. Ford Library has collections of educational periodicals and resource books. Computers and software are available for topic searches and the card catalogue is computerized. Books and articles not found in the library are available through the interlibrary loan service and usually take only a few days to arrive.

Carnegie Public Library
The Carnegie Public Library is located a couple of blocks east of the Perry T. Ford Library at 322 South Wayne Street. Education students have borrowing privileges at this library which gives you access to a fine collection of children's and youth's literature. Arrangements must be made with Department of Education for a borrower's card.
