Tri-State University’s Department of Brand and Integrated Marketing seeks a qualified individual for a full-time position.

Responsibilities:

  • In accordance with the needs of various institution constituents served by TSU, the Web content and copy writer will support the Brand & Integrated Marketing Department by facilitating online content, writing initiatives, and some Web related projects, etc.
  • This person will work closely with the Web designer to promote TSU through a premier, accurate, brand consistent, visually appealing Web site.
  • Writes a variety of communication pieces, including Web site copy, print collateral copy, newsletters, best practices and writing standards, and other projects as assigned.
  • Maintains university marketing standards as well as editorial writing standards and quality for Web site text.
  • Works as a team member in the development of online content strategies and implementation plans.
  • Coordinates the development and collection of content to effectively update and improve institution Web site. Provides ongoing support for revisions, updates and maintenance of online content.
  • Provides proofing for all content-related material submitted before posting to Web site via content management system (CMS).
  • Provides CMS training and support to TSU personnel to enable individuals to update their own content areas of the Web site and in the established voice for the institution.
  • Ensures all information remains current in content areas of the Web.
  • Regularly monitors Web metrics to assess usage and to assist in Web site content, structure, and navigational improvements and marketing initiatives.
  • Provides support on special projects related to marketing of TSU programs, events, initiatives as assigned.

 

Requirements:

  • BA/BS degree in English, journalism, communication, marketing or a related field of study preferred.
  • Must have excellent writing skills
  • Demonstrated proofreading and editing skills
  • Experience working on large-scale Web site projects and enhancements to existing sites
  • Experience creating content hierarchies, navigation, and interactive solutions
  • Proven copy-writing experience
  • Passion for usability and keen interest in new technologies and Web trends
  • Ability to work with other team members to think beyond traditional solutions and solve problems
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to clearly articulate ideas with excellent written and verbal skills
  • Strong conceptual and analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Exhibits strong attention for detail with ability to handle multiple priorities in fast-paced environment
  • Experience in HTML, Contribute (CMS), Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign, Flash, photography a plus.
