Dr. Jeffrey Sherlock, Dean of the Ketner School of Business

Jeff Sherlock Dr. Jeffrey F. Sherlock is the dean of the Ketner School of Business and an associate professor of business.  Since coming to TSU in 1997, Jeff has taught more than a dozen different courses ranging from Introduction to Business to Strategic Management (the business senior capstone course).  He has designed and taught several courses including Business Concepts (for non-business majors), Entrepreneurship, and Leadership.

Sherlock earned his bachelor and master degrees in business from Ohio University and completed his doctoral work at Ball State University.  A committed lifelong learner, he has completed additional coursework in accounting at Huntington College.

At TSU, Dr. Sherlock was awarded the Charles William, Nelle Paris, and Mary Ann McKetta Excellence in Teaching Award (1999-2000) and was selected by senior business graduates as the outstanding professor (2000-2001).

Outside the classroom, Dr. Sherlock is involved in a variety of activities.  He is the owner of Cathay Consulting Services providing teamwork/leadership training, strategic planning, and project planning for profit and not-for-profit organizations.  He has led a number of strategic planning retreats and has conducted studies and written grants for the Steuben County Community Foundation and the Huntington County United Way.

Jeff is also involved in international issues.  He lived with his family for two years in Macau, Southeast Asia and has traveled to China, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Argentina and Ecuador.  In the summer of 2006, he will travel to Sierra Leone, West Africa to participate in capacity building and leadership development for the Church of the United Brethren in Christ.
