At TSU, you will find a curriculum that is focused on your future. Don’t worry about endless lectures on the theory of ancient civilizations. Our professors engage you in career-related activities and research. At TSU, it’s not about “I think; therefore I am” as much as “I think; therefore I do.” Perhaps that’s why our alumni hold hundreds of patents and our faculty have real-world experience.
Personal Attention
With a student-to-faculty ratio of 13:1, you will find small classes where our dedicated faculty teach. Your professors will know your name. That makes it easy to ask questions and to collaborate with your classmates. It also helps you to discover your interests and talents, to clarify your aspirations, and to reach for the future.
Practical Education
By combining a quality education with a practical education, TSU prepares you for your future. Our faculty combine hands-on classroom learning with off-campus experiences (internships, co-ops, study abroad, field experiences) to develop leadership, communication, and professional skills that will enhance your future.
Heritage of Innovation
As early as 1932, when aeronautical professor Walter S. Burnham built a miniature wind tunnel for display at the Chicago’s World Fair, Tri-State faculty and alumni have helped drive progress and innovation. Our alumni have been responsible for many advances, such as the first in-dash car radio, military aircraft and radar, radio-controlled cars, the Minuteman ICBM. and the first fax machine. Other alumni have founded Food Lion, played with the Harlem Globetrotters, written mystery novels, and earned high school Coach of the Year awards.
