Friendly Family Program
At Trine University, we recognize that adjustig to college life and a different culture can be challenging for new students. To help, we would like to offer international students the opportunity to connect with a local family. In addition to your connections at Trine (friends, family, staff), your friendly family will be a part of your support system-people who you can spend time with or turn to if you are in need of help or have questions.
Goals of the Friendly Family Program
Our goal is to provide you an opportunity to develop a support system and friends beyond the Trne University campus and to get aquainted with family life in the United States.
Possible Activities
Your family may invite you to join them for birthday celebrations, local festivals, concerts and lectures, special holidays, athletic events, and sightseeing. We also encourage you to explain your customs, country, food, culture, etc. to them and possibly prepare a traditional meal.
