A Friendly Family student story

My name is Awad Alanazi.  I come from Saudi Arabia.  This year I was given the chance to be a part of the Friendly Family Program.  I think this program was great for learning English.  I spent time with a family in Fort Wayne during the Christmas holidays.  It was a great time.  Before meeting Jane and Dennis, I did not have the courage to speak English.  During my visit, however, Jane and Dennis spoke with me and encouraged me to speak with them.  I was able to practice my English a lot. Now I will speak with anybody.

Jane and Dennis took me to many places.  I was able to meet their families in Ohio.  We often went shopping or to the movies.  The most special day I remember, however, was Christmas Day.  Everyone was exchanging presents, including me.  I got many gifts, and felt a part of the family. 

I am very fortunate to have met such a wonderful family.  I hope others will have the same opportunity as me.
