TSU demonstrates its support for our troops returning from Iraq or Afghanistan by helping to make your transition back to civilian life easier and a solid investment in your future.
Just one important example of our support is TSU’s Iraqi/Afghanistan Veteran Scholarship Program, which provides ten eligible veterans with a one-year, tuition-free education to TSU’s School of Professional Studies (SPS).
Since 1994, TSU has focused on the educational needs of adult students by offering small classes that encourage a high degree of student/faculty interaction. Evening, weekend and online classes are designed specifically for busy working adults. The following degrees are offered:
- Bachelor of Applied Management
- Bachelor of Science in Business Administration
(with a Management or Accounting major)
- Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice
- Bachelor of Science in Human Resources
SPS classes are taught by professionals committed to quality education and depth of learning who work full-time within their individual fields of expertise. These offerings are available at four locations across Indiana, Angola, Fort Wayne, Merrillville, and South Bend. This fall we will also open locations in Kendallville and Howe, Indiana.
TSU’s Iraqi/Afghanistan Veteran Scholarship Program:
- You will be considered on a “first apply, first select” basis after you complete three forms: the scholarship application, SPS online application for admission, and the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
- You will be selected from a pool of applicants returning from active duty within the last 90 days.
- You will receive up to 24 credit hours in the first year, tuition free ($275 per credit hour with a total value of $6,600).

- The scholarship recipient may select any TSU location and enter SPS beginning in Summer 2006 and ending Spring 2007.
- You may select classroom instruction, tele-courses and, for an additional fee, online instruction.
