“After graduating from Tri-State, I attended Bowling Green
State University where I received a Master of Science degree in
computer science specializing in operations research. After receiving
my master’s degree, I worked at Delta Air Lines in Atlanta,
GA as an operations research specialist for a year and a half.
I currently live in Newnan, GA with my wife Cara and work at The
Home Depot as a logistics engineer.
During my time at Tri-State, I developed the technical basis and
work ethic that has enabled me to further my education and be
successful in my career.”

“While at Tri-State University, I had many wonderful experiences
that I have carried with me into my career as a high school mathematics
teacher. My professors were very knowledgeable and cared about
my education. The door was always open for extra help and occasional
chats. One of the benefits of the small school setting and the
small class size of TSU was that the professors were able to get
to know their students as individuals. My professors were great
role models for me as a future teacher in the field of mathematics.
In the classroom today, I implement some of their teaching styles
with my students. Because of the education I received from this
department, I was named the “Outstanding Senior in Mathematics”
for the class of 2005. I currently am a second year teacher at Lakeland High School in
LaGrange, Indiana. So far, my career has been very successful
and I attribute this to my professors at TSU and the knowledge
with which they imparted me.”

“I am currently in my fourth year in the PhD program in
mathematics here at Central Michigan University. I have passed
all of my qualifying exams and am taking teacher education courses
to prepare me for a professorship, and am working with my advisor
towards a dissertation problem in analytic number theory. I found
that TSU prepared me well to tackle the graduate student experience,
especially since TSU offered a wide variety of math courses and
very good teachers. I found the professors at TSU to be both helpful
and knowledgeable, and interested in my progress. I can remember
the comfortable classroom environment that they created, and the
friendly greetings they would give me when I went to ask them
questions during their office hours. In short, my education was
a very personal and agreeable experience at TSU, and I would hope
that others would take advantage of the many opportunities TSU
has to offer.”
