Tri-State Women’s Tennis Ends Season
The Tri-State University women’s tennis team ended their season with a 7-2 loss to Spring Arbor. The Thunder end their season with a record of 1-12.
Holly Kimball earned her eighth victory of the season at #2 singles with a 6-4, 6-3 decision. The #1 doubles team of Kimball and Nicole Fisher earned an 8-1 victory. The #2 doubles team of Beth Hancock and Sarah Greene dropped a close match to Spring Arbor 8-5.
April 16
Tri-State Tennis Teams Compete at Indiana Wesleyan
The Tri-State University men’s and women’s tennis teams competed at Indiana Wesleyan University. The men’s team was defeated 0-9 and the women’s team went down 0-9. Dan Wiedemann went down in three sets at #6 singles 7-5, 1-6, 7-5. Tri-State had strong doubles play at #1 and #3. The #1 team of Pat Hoelscher and Andy Steiner were defeated 9-8 and Steve Johnson and Dan Wiedemann were defeated 9-8 at #3 doubles.
The men’s team is now 4-13 on the season. They will return to action Saturday, April 17th at Aquinas. The women’s team drops their season record to 1-12. They will return to the court for their final match of the season on Monday, April 19th at home against Spring Arbor.

Tri-State Women’s Tennis Earns First Victory of the Season
The Tri-State University women’s tennis team earned their first victory of the season with a 6-3 win over Spring Arbor. Tri-State is now 1-10 on the season.
Nicole Fisher won her first match of the season at #1 singles in a 6-4, 6-1 decision. Sarah Greene also won her first match of the season in a 2-6, 6-4, 7-6 victory at #3 singles. Holly Kimball won at #2 singles by a score of 6-2, 6-4. The doubles team of Fisher and Kimball won at #1 doubles 9-8.
Tri-State returns to action Thursday, April 18th at Indiana Wesleyan.

Tri-State Women’s Tennis Competes Against Calvin and Hope
The Tri-State University women’s tennis team was defeated 0-9 by Calvin College on Tuesday. The Thunder returned to action Wednesday at Hope College and went down 0-9.
Against Calvin, Nicole Fisher was defeated 6-2, 6-1 at #1 singles. The #1 doubles team of Fisher and Holly Kimball went down 6-3, 6-1.
The #1 doubles team of Fisher and Kimball fought hard in going down 7-5, 6-1 against Hope College. The #2 doubles team of Sarah Greene and Beth Hancock had a good second set, being defeated 6-0, 7-5.
Tri-State returns to action Thursday, April 8th at Spring Arbor.

Tri-State Women’s Tennis Suffers Tough Loss to Adrian
The Tri-State University women’s tennis team suffered a tough 5-4 loss to Adrian College. Holly Kimball was a winner in three sets at #2 singles and Tracey Ellis was a singles winner at #6 singles. The #1 doubles team of Nicole Fisher and Holly Kimball won in two sets and the #3 doubles team of Leah Haller and Tracey Ellis won in three sets. Tri-State returns to action Tuesday, April 6th at home against Calvin College.

Tri-State Women’s Tennis Shows Progress in Loss to Huntington
The Tri-State University women’s tennis team lost 6-3 against Huntington College. Freshman Tracey Ellis earned her first victory in a 6-3, 6-4 win at #6 singles. Holly Kimball won her fourth match of the season in a 6-3, 6-4 decision at #2 singles. The #1 doubles team of Nicole Fisher and Holly Kimball fought back to earn a 1-6, 6-3, 6-3 victory. Tri-State returns to action Saturday, April 3rd at Adrian College.

Olivet College Defeats Tri-State Women’s Tennis
The Tri-State University women’s tennis team was defeated 8-1 by Olivet College. Tri-State drops their season record to 0-8. Holly Kimball was victorious for Tri-State at #2 singles in a close match winning 3-6, 6-3 (10-3). Tri-State’s season record is now 0-8. The Thunder return to action Thursday, April 1st at Huntington College.

Tri-State Women’s Tennis Falls to St. Mary’s and Aquinas
The Tri-State University women’s tennis team competed against St. Mary’s and Aquinas at St. Mary’s College. Tri-State was defeated 7-0 against St. Mary’s. The #1 doubles team of Nicole Fisher and Holly Kimball played very well in a losing cause, going down 4-6, 6-3, 7-5. Tracey Ellis played a tough match at #6 singles but was defeated 6-4, 7-6 (10-7). Aquinas College defeated the Thunder by a score of 9-0. The #1 doubles team of Fisher and Kimball competed well. Holly Kimball lost a close match at #2 singles by a score of 6-4, 6-4.
The Thunder drop their season record to 0-7. Tri-State begins their home season Tuesday, March 30th against Olivet College.
March 24
Kimball is a Double Winner for Women’s Tennis
The Tri-State University women’s tennis team was defeated by Alma College 7-2 in their first outdoor match of the season. Freshman Holly Kimball was victorious at #2 singles by a score of 6-3, 6-2. Kimball and sophomore Nicole Fisher defeated Jessica Eichen and Bethany Duran at #1 doubles 6-2, 6-2. Freshman Tracey Ellis lost a competitive match in three sets.
The Thunder drop their season record to 0-5. The women return to action Saturday, March 27th at St. Mary’s College.

Tri-State Women’s Tennis Team Defeated by Tough Albion Squad
The Tri-State University women’s tennis team was defeated 9-0 by Albion College. Sarah Greene showed a lot of progress in a 6-2, 6-1 losing effort. Holly Kimball played well despite going down 6-2, 6-0. The Thunder drop their season record to 0-4. Tri-State returns to action Tuesday, March 23rd at Alma College.

The Tri-State University women’s tennis team was defeated 9-0 by Kalamazoo College. At #1 singles Nicole Fisher was defeated 6-2, 6-3. The #1 doubles team of Nicole Fisher and Holly Kimball was defeated 6-1, 6-1. The Thunder drop their season record to 0-3. Tri-State returns to action Tuesday, March 16th at Albion College.

Tri-State Women’s Tennis Begins Season
The Tri-State University women’s tennis team opened their season at Ohio Northern over the weekend. The Thunder was defeated 0-8 by Ohio Northern in their opening match of the season. The #1 doubles team of Nicole Fisher and Holly Kimball played well in a losing cause and everyone else gained valuable experience. Tri-State was defeated by Tiffin University 2-7. Holly Kimball gets her first collegiate win at #2 singles by a score of 8-0. The Thunder was also victorious with Nicole Fisher and Holly Kimball at #2 doubles.
