MIS
Majors Speak Two Languages!
At the heart of any organization is information—and management
of that information is a key issue as companies compete with other
companies for business, profitability—and survival. Archeological
discoveries show that managers realized the importance of information
management thousands of years ago.
More recently, of course, most of information management has
shifted to computers. The MIS major bridges the gap between the
computer world and the business world, enabling the business to
take effective advantage of technology in managing the business.
The MIS major learns to speak two “languages”—the
language of business and the language of technology.
At TSU, the major in management information systems is offered
by the Ketner School of Business in cooperation with the Jannen
School of Arts and Sciences. Students take classes in both areas
to learn how to “speak both languages.”
