Kate’s comments about her job responsibilities: “Within my job, I try and make life more efficient and easier for all of the developers in the systems department at State Farm. I’m involved in the planning, research, installation, and maintenance of new products and technologies that provide automated/integrated solutions for our developers. Currently, I’m a member of a project team that is bringing in a new source code management tool for the enterprise. Out of the box, this tool is not ready for State Farm’s environment/infrastructure, so we have to make customizations, tweaks, etc., as needed. I am a developer in that sense, just not an insurance-related developer.”
