Effective Managers—
The Key to Effective Organizations

The manager is at the heart of the business enterprise. He/she is like the conductor of an orchestra, coordinating and directing each part of the organization to accomplish its goals with efficiency and effectiveness. In addition, the manager provides leadership, ensuring that the organization is headed in the right direction.

To accomplish these tasks, the manager must have highly developed “people” skills, as well as a good understanding of all areas of business. The focus of the management major at TSU is to develop the required people skills to lead organizations into the future. At the same time, management students require competencies in the “core” business areas – accounting, finance, marketing, operations, etc.
