Purpose: To help students understand and become familiar with market economics and trade resources.
How the Program Works:
- This project was done with a 5th grade classroom
- We used pizza pieces in this activity
- Groups represented different countries of the world. (5 groups)
- Each of the countries received a crust
- Toppings represented different countries
Sauce = Spain
Cheese = France
Pepperoni = Italy
Sausage = Germany
Vegetables = United States
- Students traded among themselves to make a pizza with the toppings that their country desired
- After all the trading was done each country was treated to the real thing (pizza that is!)
