Purpose:  To create awareness among elementary school students regarding the fundamentals of using a checking account.

How the Program Works:

• We conducted our project in a 4th grade classroom.
• Students were taught the basics of checking, maintaining a check book, and writing checks
• Students were issued SIFE dollars
• Students completed deposit tickets
• Students wrote checks to other students for merchandise
• Students maintained a check register and reconcile their accounts
