Think
fast! What’s the first thing that comes to mind when you hear the
name Tri-State University? Outstanding Athletic Programs and Facilities?
Drama Club? Our Co-operative Education Program? Pep Band? WEAX Radio Station?
Three Sororities and eight Fraternities that provide extensive community
service? Probably not. What probably comes to mind is our leadership in
industrial-oriented engineering education for nearly a century. But along
with our strength in teaching, Tri-State University is also a place where
an individual can expand his or her horizons in a comfortable, small-town
setting.
In the Chemical Engineering Department, we focus specifically on strengths in bioengineering, environmental engineering, materials science (plastics, polymers, composites, and alloys), and process controls. How will our society move from being petrochemical-based to carbohydrate-based in the next century? What can be done to make the air cleaner to breathe for future generations? What materials will be used to manufacture the automobiles of the future, and what fuels will power them? How do we use computers to more efficiently regulate chemical manufacturing processes? To realize our vision of educating many of tomorrow’s leaders in industry, we recruit some of the most intelligent, hardworking students in the country and from overseas. Students with a make-it-happen spirit. Students who thrive in a challenging academic climate, but appreciate the personal attention they receive to ensure success. Students who want to make a difference. If I’ve described an academic environment that interests you, consider pursuing your undergraduate chemical engineering education at Tri-State University. Here, your academic performance and motivation can take you in any number of directions, and you’ll find real encouragement to explore the many career paths available. Simply stated, anything is possible with a TSU degree! We’re ready. Are you? To learn more about Tri-State University’s Chemical Engineering Department, I encourage you to visit campus. I’d like to meet you in person. You can either attend one of the regularly scheduled visitation days or schedule an individual visitation at your convenience.
