The American Institute of Chemical Engineers is dedicated to the lifelong education of chemical engineer professionals and students through the endless pursuit of knowledge and experience. AIChE is the professional society for chemical engineers of all backgrounds and fields.
The Tri-State University chapter of AIChE is comprised of chemical engineering students and cooperatives attending and working through Tri-State University. There are 33 current participants in the activities provided by the chapter. These activities are comprised of field trips to various chemical engineering facilities, speeches and meetings with various chemical engineering alumni, as well as learning through educational videos.
AIChE is one of the building blocks for chemical engineering students to better understand their field of study and what may be expected of them for years to come. Student involvement in AIChE plays a key role in the "well-roundedness" of an individual as an engineer. Professional involvement provides opportunities to find new innovations and technologies that are driving the industry as well as improving the quality of production. Professional involvement also allows for safety and environmental education.
