The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 (FERPA) enacted by Congress states that once an individual reaches the age of 18, all financial and academic records belong to him/her.
This prohibits Tri-State from speaking to parents, guardians, or other third parties regarding the student's financial or academic records, unless the student has given us written authorization.
A student can do this by completing the STUDENT ACCOUNT AGREEMENT/AUTHORIZATION FORM. Please click here to print the form. After completing the form, it must be returned to the Business Office.
