What is Blackboard?
Blackboard is a password-protected course management system that creates "virtual classrooms" for instructors to post course material and interact with students via the Internet. The Blackboard software resides on a Tri-State University web server and all users (instructors and students) access the Blackboard environment using an Internet-connected computer and popular web browser. Blackboard offers instructors and students a robust set of tools, functions, and features for learning. Tri-State University instructors utilize Blackboard to either enhance their traditional classroom-based instruction or deliver a course completely online.
If you have never taken an online course using the Blackboard course management system, the following information will help orient you to the Blackboard environment.
