Reporting a crime in progress

When in immediate danger

• Call 911
• Make sure the dispatcher knows that the incident is in progress
• Give the location of the incident
• Describe the suspects involved, the injuries that have occurred, the weapons involved and the property involved
• Stay on the telephone until help arrives
• Even if you cannot talk - do not hang up the telephone
• Complete a campus incident report within 24 hours

Reporting a crime not in progress

• Call 911
• Give the dispatcher your name, address and telephone number
• Give a brief description of what has occurred
• Give your exact location at the time of the incident
