Teacher preparation first began at Tri-State in 1884. Today
our Franks School of Education is dedicated to three main goals;
helping you understand a subject completely, helping you teach
a subject effectively, and helping you show all students you
care about their development.
As former teachers (elementary, middle school, high school),
counselors, buildinglevel administrators, and department chairs,
our faculty know both the theory and the practice of the education
profession. They share that knowledge with you to help you become
the best teacher you can be. They are invested in your future.
Field experiences, important and practical
opportunities for you to interact with K–12
students and teachers, are part of your
education program. They are integrated
into the curriculum and begin as early as
your freshman year. You might also have the
opportunity to participate in other schoolbased
activities, such as attending team
meetings, tutoring, testing, and coaching.
