Professional Accomplishments: The Teachers College Reading and Writing Project is a research and staff development organization housed at Teachers College Columbia University. The teacher-educators who staff the Project are involved in long-lasting collaborations with teachers across the United States. The goal of the Project is to support expert literacy instruction within schools through research, writing and professional development of teachers and school leaders. Celena, a former primary and upper grade teacher and writing coach in Indiana, is a Project Staff Developer. She has presented at various national conferences and universities. She was a teaching assistant for the Teaching of Writing course at Columbia University taught by Lucy Calkins.
