The Tri-State University Franks School of Education, supported by the Lilly Endowment Inc., is proud to announce its unique Teacher-In-Residence program for 2007-2008. This program will enrich relationships and collaboration between Franks School of Education and the public school communities within the four Indiana counties of Steuben, DeKalb, Noble, and LaGrange; Branch and Saint Joseph counties in Michigan; and Williams county in Ohio.
Goals for the Teacher-In-Residence program include:
- enhancing instruction for students at all levels;
- presenting innovative opportunities for teaching and mentoring; and
- providing opportunities for ongoing conversations throughout the educational community.
To apply, teachers must meet the following criteria:
- Have a minimum BA/BS degree in education;
- Be a tenured teacher with a minimum of five years of successful teaching experience;
- Secure one letter of recommendation from a colleague and one letter of recommendation from the current principal. Additionally, the final page of the application requires a superintendent's signature;
- Complete an application form including five essay questions on what the Franks School of Education seeks in a candidate; and
- Be interviewed by the Teacher-in-Residence selection committee at TSU.
The applications for the 2008 - 2009 academic year must be submitted to the Franks School of Educaiton no later than Friday, April 4, 2008 at 3:00 p.m.
