Chemical Engineering…Job Opportunities and Salaries Cannot Be Beat!

Chemical engineers perform biological, chemical, and/or physical transformations of raw materials into useful products. They look at all aspects of manufacturing, starting at the atomic-scale of matter to large commercial-scale operations. This requires you to have a broad base of technical knowledge and experience. Because of this base of knowledge, chemical engineers obtain jobs in almost every type of process imaginable.

On average, chemical engineers tend to work for large corporations, with such job assignments as process engineering, design engineering, and plant operation. In addition, you will typically make the highest starting salaries of all the major engineering professions. Chemical engineering is also an excellent preparation if you desire to undertake graduate studies in engineering and other fields, such as medicine, law, or business.

The McKetta Department of Chemical & Bioprocess Engineering is an undergraduate program granting bachelor’s degrees only. Here at TSU, industrial experienced faculty teach all our chemical engineering classes. Many of these teachers have won TSU and national teaching awards. We specialize in providing students with an industrially oriented undergraduate education. Areas of expertise include bioengineering, environmental engineering, alternative energy, and materials science.

Though you will have chosen an exceptionally challenging field and academic environment, with our small class size we are able to offer you individual attention in classes under thirty students. This allows us to offer a unique educational experience, which can be catered to the individual student. Compare TSU to our competition…our students succeed!
