Computer and Electrical Engineering

What is electrical engineering?
Electrical engineers provide electric power where and when it is needed, help people to connect through communication systems, and provide the "intelligent" functions of modern equipment. Our graduates specialize in wireless communications, industrial control systems, and power transmission and distribution.

Who is likely to thrive in electrical engineering?
EEs must have some math talent. We are less detail-oriented than many other engineers, but still careful by nature, and interested in how things work, not just whether or not they do.

After Graduation
Recent employment includes vehicle engineers, construction contracting, manufacturing, and pump & motor design.

What is Computer Engineering?
Computer engineering hosts both computer software engineers and computer hardware engineers. Hardware engineers have generated our rapid advances in computer technology through their design of circuit boards and related equipment. Software engineers design, develop, and test the software that fits computers to their many applications. The US government calls software engineering the fastest growing occupation over this decade.

Who is likely to thrive in computer engineering?
Computer Engineers must be quick, innovative problem solvers. Great computer engineers like learning as our field changes, and they can enjoy trying out new ideas to see what works best.

After Graduation
Recent Computer Engineering graduates have gone to graduate school, into defense system design, and into vehicle control.
