Bio:

His technical specialty is in circuits and electronics. Dr. Carr is our specialist in electric motors, and he has experience in microwave circuits as well. He has worked in design of machinery electromagnet wiring. He came to TSU from teaching at the University of Virginia, and was Chair at Indiana Tech prior to that, so he has broad experience of students and of facilities. Dr. Carr brings an international, British flavor to our department and a different slant on education that strengthens all our offerings.

Internal Accomplishments (service)

• Served as engineering faculty representative on the Faculty Advisory Committee
• Continued work as Admissions Mentor: calling prospects, meeting prospects, and writing letters
• Assisted in departmental assessment process including student-work documentation
• Presented two new special topics classes in advanced circuit analysis and electrical power
• Continued to improve and develop energy conversion class
• Continued documentation of circuits laboratory experiments

External Accomplishments/Activities

• Facilitated at three sessions of the B.E.S.T. Camp in June 2006
• Taught the electricity and magnetism session of the EIT Exam Preparation class
• Chaperoned student-class visit to electrical power station
• Arranged professional speaker-presentation to Energy Conversion class
• Developed machines laboratory under Lilly Initiative support
