Masters Programs

TSU is proud to add the Master of Engineering degree to the offerings of the Allen School of Engineering and Technology. This program offers an array of possibilities for young engineers and returning graduates alike: new degrees in five years, a better salary, or a promotion.

Master of Engineering
The rapid pace of technological advancement has resulted in a demand for engineers with advanced training. Engineers with the skills necessary to lead the design of a complex system are highly sought by industry. Regional manufacturers regularly comment that new engineers “lack the applied experience that allows them to take their knowledge from the classroom confidently into the workplace,” and that “more design skills will be required.”

By emphasizing advanced design skills rather than research, the Master of Engineering program addresses the needs’ of industry leaders. The Master of Engineering is a design-based, engineering practice-oriented degree. This fits our mission of educating quality, work-ready engineers. TSU has built its reputation on the success of its graduates in engineering practice; the Master of Engineering degree is designed to further that success.

A proposal to require one year of education beyond the bachelor’s degree for registration as a Professional Engineer is now being considered in many states. With its emphasis on design and practice, the Master of Engineering degree will give you an excellent base for professional registration.
