Senior Design Projects

Students are placed into teams (usually 5-10 members) that combine EEs and CpEs, and sometimes MEs, to demonstrate that they are ready to use what they have learned.

Sometimes, a commercial enterprise sponsors the project, but these are often too elaborate to build and to revise the design.

The faculty sponsor most projects, and these draw on many courses, and are chosen so that time and equipment permit construction and correction of the design.

Past projects

  • Web-output, wireless building monitor
  • Low-frequency, spread-spectrum, secure communication channel
  • A power substation design (commercial project - no prototype!)

Current projects

  • Heart monitor (EKG) machine
  • Wireless data transceiver
  • Firefighting robot
  • Quality monitor (commercial project)
