Matthew Davis
Class Year: 2006
Matt graduated with High Honors in the spring of 2006 with two
degrees, a B.S. in Engineering Administration and a B.S. in Mechanical
Engineering. He had the highest grade point average of all the
graduates in the Allen School of Engineering and Technology.
For his engineering project, Matt worked with a group of mechanical
engineering students designing a micro-scale cooling system for
computer chips. This project was part of a larger joint research
effort, involving Purdue University, Delphi Corp., the Crane NSWC,
and TSU, that was sponsored by the Indiana 21st Century Fund.
Matt was elected to the Honor Societies Alpha Chi, Phi Eta Sigma,
Pi Tau Sigma (Mechanical Engineering), and Tau Beta Pi (Engineering)
and served as treasurer of Phi Eta Sigma and President of Tau
Beta Pi. He was the TSU delegate to the Tau Beta Pi National Convention
in Houston in the fall of 2005. Matt is a member of the American
Society of Mechanical Engineers and was elected to several offices
(secretary, treasurer, and president) of the TSU Student Section
and attended several regional ASME meetings as the TSU representative.
In addition to his professional activities Matt was an active
member of the TSU Christian Campus House where he was a Bible
study leader.
As a student Matt was employed during the summers by Tenneco,
Inc. He is now employed by Beckman-Coulter as a research engineer.
