Abstract: The BUV project is comprised of the research, design and fabrication of a utility vehicle for use in underdeveloped countries. It will be a low cost, rugged, and simple to use vehicle for both on and off road situations. The approximate size of this vehicle is ten feet long and five feet wide. It will be powered by a gasoline internal combustion engine and will be able to carry a payload of either solid materials or humans. This vehicle will compete in the Basic Utility Vehicle Contest sponsored by the Institute for Affordable Transportation (IAT) in the spring of 2007. Please see www.drivebuv.org for more competition details.
