Scholarships & College Credit

Tri-State University awards both scholarships and credits to high school students who have successfully completed courses in Project Lead the Way, and have been officially admitted and plans to enroll at the University. The eligibility requirements for scholarships and credit are as follows:

TSU/Project Lead the Way Tuition Scholarships:
  • Value: $500 annually ($250 per semester) and may be renewed for up to three years for a total value of $2,000 over four years. This scholarship may be stacked on top of other TSU merit-based awards, but not to exceed tuition.
  • Renew Criteria: must continue to pursue a TSU engineering or technology degree, and make satisfactory progress towards completing the degree.
  • Eligibility: must have completed minimum of (2) PLTW high school courses with grade of “B” or better in each course and provide a transcript documenting these courses from a PLTW certified high school.

TSU/Project Lead the Way Credit:

Course Equivalency:

  • PLTW Introduction to Engineering Design equivalent to TSU Basic Technical Drawing (ETD 103)
  • PLTW Computer Integrated Manufacturing equivalent to TSU Manufacturing Materials & Processes (ETD 123)
  • PLTW Engineering Design & Development equivalent to TSU Middle College designation (GE 113 or substitution/free elective for an introductory course to individual engineering degree programs)

Additional Requirements:

  • High school must be PLTW certified
  • Student must complete course with “B” grade or better
  • Student must provide official high school transcript and documentation of course(s)
  • Student must meet Allen School of Engineering & Technology admission requirements
  • Student must plan to enroll at TSU
