About Me

I joined Tri-State University's Department of Mathematics and Computer Science in January 2002, but many of my philosophies on education were shaped in the years before.

I graduated from Miami University in 1986 with a Bachelor of Science in Systems Analysis.  I worked as a computer programmer/Analyst/Systems Engineer at AT&T, GTE, and Verizon.

Between stints at AT&T and GTE/Verizon, I took graduate classes in mathematics and secondary education at Purdue University in 1989-90.  I completed my student teaching at Lewis Cass Jr./ Sr. High School in Walton, IN and taught mathematics and computers at West Noble High School in Ligonier, IN.

In 1998, I earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Indiana University.  In 2004, I completed a Master of Science in Computer Information Technology from Regis University.  I am now pursuing a Ph.D. in Technology Management from Indiana State University.

I left Verizon to come to Tri-State University.  I taught in the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science from January 2002-December 2007.  In January 2008, I moved with Computer Science to the Department of Computer and Electrical Engineering.

My hobbies include playing the saxophone and bass guitar in the Fairview Missionary Church's Praise Band, going off road with my Jeep, and tinkering on my MG.

My wife and I have lived in Angola since 1991.  We have two daughters, two dogs, a guinea pig, and a whole slew of cats.
