Staffed with full-time Academic Technologists and student employees, the Center for Digital Excellence is located within the Center for Technology and Online Resources in the University Center.  The Center is equipped with a host of computing equipment used by faculty and students in the creation of multi-media content.  Staff is available by appointment to train students on the use of equipment and software in the preparation of academic materials.

CLASSROOM TECHNOLOGY

All classrooms are equipped with access to Tri-State’s secure wireless network.  Faculty members are provided Tablet PC’s, and most classrooms include a fixed network connection and docking station for faculty to use during class instruction.  In addition, audio/visual technology including a projector and speakers is provided.  Tri-State University is installing prototype high-tech classrooms that include Tablet PC’s for students and collaborative DyKnow Vision software.  Numerous specialized classrooms, with equipment and software specific to areas of study, are also used on campus.

The Blackboard Learning System is used by Tri-State University to supplement instructor-led classes.  Instructors post course materials, administer online tests, and participate in extended classroom learning through discussion boards.
