As a part of Angola’s Fall Fest, Tri-State University presents Chalk it up!, a public event designed to bring the community and campus together for a day of fun. The event will take place on TSU’s own boulevard, which will become an area for artists to create their own design. Chalk it up!, a free event, will take place on Saturday, September 24, beginning at 9 a.m. and continue throughout the day.
“We are excited to be a part of Angola’s Fall Fest,” said Michael Bock, TSU vice president for student and university advancement. “We want to welcome children, parents, grandparents and TSU students to participate in the event. This is an event that everyone in the community can take part in.”
Chalk it up! is based on the Italian tradition of street painting that dates back to the 16th century. TSU’s “street painting” will take place on the university’s boulevard located off Maumee Street. Artists will be able to create their own 4x4 foot masterpiece in chalk, directly on the boulevard. The materials, which are non-toxic to artists and the environment, will be provided to each participant.
