TSU celebrates holidays with a special event

Tri-State University will host a special holiday evening for the Angola community on Sunday, Dec. 3. The event will feature holiday story time, a tree lighting ceremony, and a music concert by members of the Fort Wayne Philharmonic, which is all free and open to the public.

“This is a great opportunity for us to welcome those from the community to our campus,” said Earl D. Brooks II, Ph.D. “During this time of giving, it gives us great pleasure to give back to the community.”

The evening will start with holiday story time at the TSU Bookstore at 4:30 p.m. The Giving Tree, by Shel Silverstein, will be read while refreshments are served to guests. The six art contest winners from the TSU children’s contest will be announced at 6 p.m. A tree lighting ceremony will continue the celebration at 6 p.m. on University Boulevard. Hot chocolate and cookies will be served at 6:15 p.m. in Best Hall Room 229. The evening will conclude with a free concert of holiday music by a string quartet from the Fort Wayne Philharmonic.
