Tri-State University will be celebrating the holidays with an evening full of activities. On Sunday, December 4, adults and children are welcome to visit with Santa, participate in the tree lighting ceremony, and listen to the Fort Wayne Philharmonic Holiday Concert. All events are open to the public and free of charge.
The festivities will begin at 4:30 p.m. in the TSU Bookstore with Santa and story time. Families can enjoy holiday treats while the children get their picture taken with Santa. TSU students will also read holiday stories during the event. TSU will then celebrate the holidays with the community tree lighting ceremony at 6:15 p.m. on the University Boulevard. TSU President Earl D. Brooks II, Ph.D., and Angola Mayor Richard Hickman will light a tree in front of Forman Hall, along with Christmas carols and a special Christmas reading by Mayor Hickman.
Immediately following the Christmas tree lighting, a holiday reception will take place in Best Hall. Participants can warm up with hot chocolate and holiday cookies before the Fort Wayne Philharmonic performs a selection of holiday music, including a sing-a-long. The holiday concert will begin at 7 p.m. and will last approximately an hour.
TSU’s elementary school coloring contest winners will be announced prior to the concert. For more information on the holiday events, please call 260.665.4133.
