Spring symbolizes new beginnings, and high school students poised to begin a new college life will learn how Tri-State University can fit into their plans by attending the Office of Admission’s Spring Frenzy campus-wide open house Friday, April 25.
Students and their families will explore all aspects of TSU college life, through campus tours, informative panels, and overviews from leaders in their schools of study. Descriptions of academic life will be given by representatives from the Allen School of Engineering & Technology, the Franks School of Education, the Jannen School of Arts & Sciences, and the Ketner School of Business.
Panels by representatives from TSU’s Office of Admission, Office of Career Services, and Office of Student Life will detail opportunities for financial aid, scholarships, internships, work study, social organizations, and other aspects of life at TSU.
An athletic open house in the mall area of the University Center will acquaint prospective students with opportunities to participate in the university’s 21 NCAA Division III athletic teams. Visitors will enjoy lunch in Whitney Commons and then explore the campus through tours with TSU students to wrap up the open house portion of the day.
Students and their families are invited to attend TSU’s free Engineering Expo, in which junior and senior engineering students exhibit their design projects, from 1-3:30 p.m. A guest speaker will give a presentation in Best Hall 229 at 1 p.m., and the engineering projects will be on display on the first and second floors of Fawick Hall from 1:30-3:30 p.m. Local industries will also set up displays, and a student design team will showcase their project, a wall-climbing robot, at 3:30 p.m. in Fawick Hall room 112-117.
