Great looks for a great cause will sum up Rockin’ Hot Makeovers, an event sponsored by the Tri-State University Office of Student Life on Jan. 25 at 7 p.m. in Fabiani Theatre.
Fifteen students and five faculty or staff members nominated by the university community will receive clothing, hair, and makeup revamps in an intriguing event open to the public and showcasing the services and products of local businesses such as Finishing Touch, Mary Kay and Lia Sophia associates, Maurice’s, Dress Barn, Van Heusen and Hush Puppies.
Donations to the Steuben County United Way will be accepted and United Way executive director Lindsay Lantz will be on hand to give a brief overview of the function of the United Way and whom the donations will aid.
TSU’s Mike McNamara, chairman of the Department of Communication, will emcee. Eyster Photo & Graphics will donate photos of the show’s subjects before their makeovers to highlight the dramatic effect of the changes.
Families and friends of the models are invited to attend, and the Office of Student Life will assemble a photo montage of each model from infancy through college, set to music. The evening will end with a reception in the University Center mall, with refreshments and a chance to photograph a favorite model.
“We would like to invite the community to meet our students and watch their transformations on stage,” said Sarah Brown, Director of Student Life. “We are also very fortunate to have the support from the area businesses to help make this event a success.”
TSU will also play host to the United Way’s Rockin’ Hot Makeover fundraiser for the entire community on Saturday, Feb. 23 in Fabiani Theatre at 7 p.m. Call Lantz at 665.6196 for more information.
