Tri-State University students and the TSU Office of Student Life are joining the community-wide effort to benefit Project Help, the county food and clothing bank, over the holidays. The effort supports the larger mission of the Project Help board as it seeks to rebuild the facility.
To help county families in need, the Office of Student Life is sponsoring a Cram-the-Van donation drive for Project Help families. The drive begins Saturday with a concert by the Fort Wayne band Brother in Hershey Hall from 8-10 p.m. The event is open to the public at an admission cost of one can of non-perishable food to place in TSU’s WEAX radio station van outside.
From Saturday through Sunday, Dec. 2, when TSU hosts its Holiday Extravaganza throughout the day and evening, the Office of Student Life asks TSU and the surrounding community to place contributions of cleaning supplies, toiletry items, non-perishable food, unwrapped children’s toys, accessories, and other gift items in the WEAX van parked outside the University Center.
“We encourage our students to get involved with the local community, and especially around the holidays, we want to contribute to help families have a happier holiday season,” said Sarah Brown, TSU Director of Student Life.
