TSU Fort Wayne sponsored a Christmas tree decorated by elementary school students for the Embassy Theatre Festival of Trees over Thanksgiving weekend in Fort Wayne. Around 15,000 people annually attend the traditional area kickoff to the holiday season.
Taking the theme “The Grand Child,” TSU’s Dan Boylan, Director of Assessment for the School of Professional Studies, organized the decorating and creation of the ornaments, made up of candy and child-made decorations. Boylan gained experience decorating Christmas trees with children after teaching an enrichment class for kids last year and winning a competition for a tree they created.
This year marked the first time festival organizers invited elementary schools to decorate trees for the event.
