TSU sponsoring tiny tots concert

Local adults wishing to expose young children to live music can take advantage of  Music for Tiny Tots, a Fort Wayne Philharmonic Pops concert, on Saturday, May 17 from 10-11:15 a.m. in Tri-State University’s Fabiani Theatre.

The University is sponsoring the second annual concert for children in preschool and the early elementary school years to allow them to experience music first-hand. The program will open with an “instrument playground,” in which the musicians allow children to examine the oboe, violin, flute, and bassoon and try them out.

The Kookaburra Quartet will play music by Australian composers and arrangers as the main event, and will discuss the instruments explored by the children in the instrument playground. They will introduce music concepts such as high and low and fast and slow in a program of music from “Carnival of the Animals” and classic nursery songs such as “Five Little Monkeys” and “Skidamarink.”

The concert is free, fun, entertaining, and educational for little ones. Refreshments will be served, and the public is invited to attend. No reservations are required. For more information, contact TSU Office of Brand & Integrated Marketing Director Jill Boggs at 260.665.4100, Ext. 4122.
