TSU Ketner School of Business begins accreditation process (December 2005)
Tri-State University’s Ketner School of Business has achieved “candidate for accreditation” status with the Association of Collegiate Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP), one of three national accrediting organizations. TSU engineering students walked away with three competitive scholarships during the Foundry Education Foundation’s (FEF) annual College Industry Conference held in November. It was the most scholarships earned by any school. MORE >>

Tri-State University will be celebrating the holidays with an evening full of activities. Tri-State University continues its prospective student open houses on Friday, December 9 with the Winter Frenzy Open House. TSU receives $500,000 towards University Center (October 2005)
Tri-State University has received a gift to help fund the University Center. Mrs. Virginia Fabiani, of Southbury, Conn., widow of 1938 alum and former board chair, Dr. Dante Fabiani, gifted $500,000 towards “The Virginia P. Fabiani Theater” which will be located in the University Center. MORE >>

TSU's Gettig Fitness Center receives new look (October 2005)
TSU students and community members have the opportunity to “get fit” on new cardio and strength equipment. Tri-State University’s Gettig Fitness Center, located in Hershey Hall, received an updated look this fall. The fitness center received $40,000 worth of new Matrix equipment to replace the existing equipment. MORE >>
TSU professor named Health Educator of the Year (October 2005)
The American Alliance for Health Education (AAHE) has named Dr. David Anspaugh as the 2006 Midwest College/University Health Educator of the Year. Anspaugh, professor and chair of the TSU Department of Health, Physical Education and Sport Science, will accept this award in December at the AAHE State Conference in Indianapolis. MORE >>

TSU students win record number of awards at regional competition (October 2005)
TSU’s criminal justice students won a record number of awards at this year’s American Criminal Justice Association (ACJA) regional competition. On October 7-8, TSU’s ACJA students competed against 20 teams at the Region 6 Conference in Duluth, Minn. and walked away with a school record 17 individual and team awards, besting all other schools. TSU North Campus to serve adult learner(September 2005)
In a reorganization aimed at enhancing educational opportunities for Northeast Indiana residents and businesses, Tri-State University announced today that its School of Professional Studies will assume responsibilities for the TSU Technology Center and move its adult education program from the main campus to the new North Campus. New construction at TSU (September 2005)
Four visible areas of change occurred on campus this summer. Tri-State University worked throughout the summer to complete the construction projects prior to the start of the school year. The projects included housing, athletic facilities, parking, and TSU’s main entrance. MORE >>
TSU presents Chalk it up! (September 2005)
As a part of Angola's Fall Fest, TSU presents Chalk it up!, a public event designed to bring the community and campus together for a day of fun. The event will take place on TSU's boulevard, which will become an area for artists to create their own design. TSU responds to effects of Hurricane Katrina (August 2005)
In the wake of a national disaster, Tri-State University is responding to the plight of Southern college and university students by opening its doors to them. All college students enrolled in Southern schools affected by Hurricane Katrina are welcome to attend fall classes at TSU. Admission cut-off will be September 16. invited by the Lilly Endowment Inc. to participate in its second
phase of a fundraising initiative, which could total $96.5 million.

Former Tri-State College first lady Maxine Bateman Kolb, widow
of former TSC President Richard M. Bateman, died unexpectedly
in April leaving her estate—worth more than $3 million—to
the institution she left 30 years ago. She and her husband served

TSU Fondly Remembers Alumnus, Trustee (May 2005)
Robert E. Turner '41 is survived by his wife, Mary, four children, ten grandchildren
and seven great-grandchildren. Turner was born June 26, 1921,
in Cambridge, Ohio. He studied aeronautical engineering at Tri-State
College in 1940-1941, shortly before entering World War II as
a test pilot and Army Air Corps pilot trainer. MORE >>
Baseball players receive MIAA All-Conference honors (May 2005)
TSU seniors Mark Urbanski (Rochester Hills, Mich./Notre Dame Prep)
and Jon Lies (Granger, Ind./Penn) were honored by the MIAA for
their accomplishments on the diamond this season. Urbanski was
named a first-team selection and Lies was named to the second-team.

TSU moves Fort Wayne branch to Dupont
TSU will move its Fort Wayne campus in July from Ley Road to 9910 Dupont Circle Drive East. A TSU sign is already
in place on the site, which faces Interstate 69. At 10,000 square feet, the new space is more than 15 percent larger than the present
site and will accommodate a five-classroom facility, computer lab, conference/library space and several offices.

Humanities course includes trip to Vienna for course credit
From the rising spires of centuries-old cathedrals to narrow streets
that afford barely the space for a single car to travel alongside
pedestrian traffic, Vienna, Austria,
is an epicenter of history, architecture and culture. And, during
spring break 2005 for 17 University students, it also was their
classroom.

TSU education students team with Hamilton Elementary
Fifteen students from Hamilton Elementary School, Hamilton, Indiana
collaborated with TSU education students in April to give their
insight on how they are motivated to do their personal best at
school and in life. The visit coincides with the TSU students’
class, EDU 222 Educational Psychology—Studying the Importance
of Motivation for Teachers and Learners.

First Graduate Degree Recipients Among Class of 2005 (May 2005)
TSU’s 121st commencement ceremonies,
set for Saturday, May 7, at 10 a.m. in Hershey Hall, will have 275 participants representing
the Class of 2005. Two are making history. For the first time
in university history, TSU will confer the Master of Science in
Engineering Technology degree.
