Students in Tri-State University’s philanthropy class demonstrated their newly-honed skills by approving a $10,000 grant to Rehabilitative and Industrial Services (RISE) Inc., the Steuben County sheltered workshop, in the University’s Lawrence Franks Executive Suite on Dec. 6. RISE Inc. provides jobs through local industries for individuals with physical and developmental disabilities. Tri-State board announces university name change
On June 1, 2009, Tri-State University will officially be renamed Trine University, according to Jerry Allen, vice chair of the TSU board of trustees. In addition, the board voted to rename the Angola campus the Tri-State campus to appropriately recognize the history of the institution and embrace its past. Dr. Bahram Farahmand, an expert in fracture control plans for aircraft and spacecraft, spoke to Tri-State University’s graduate-level mechanical engineering class on Sept. 17 in Fawick Hall.
