Franklin Electric gives gift to TSU

ANGOLA, Ind.—Tri-State University is pleased to announce that Franklin Electric, headquartered in Bluffton, Ind., recently made a gift to the Vision for the Future campaign. The gift will be used to fund improvements in the electrical engineering laboratories.

According to Dr. Sean Carroll, chair of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, the funds will be used to supply the lab with a logic analyzer, a machine that is able to access the motherboard of a working computer. Multimedia projectors and seating will also be purchased for the labs.

“The gift helps us by providing the equipment that makes us a ‘hands-on’ school of engineering by encouraging, even empowering, faculty by making new ideas real,” said Carroll. “The gift also helps by teaching our students the power of philanthropy, which they may then practice to the benefit of many people later in life.”

Franklin Electric is a global leader in water well pumping systems and fuel pumping systems. A technical leader in electric motors, pumps, drives and controls, Franklin is the world’s largest manufacturer of submersible water well and fueling systems motors and a manufacturer of underground fueling systems hardware and flexible piping systems.
