TSU brings nationally known percussion group to campus

Tri-State University will play host to one of the nation’s most versatile percussion acts. “The Rock Your Junk” tour, featuring Recycled Percussion, will perform live at Hershey Hall on Thursday, Nov. 30 at 7 p.m. The event will also feature local talent, Ryan Frisinger, who will open for the group.

“Our hope is that students and the community as a whole will enjoy this interactive performance,” noted Dean of Student Life Randy White. “It is an honor for TSU to host a group that has performed during NBA halftime shows and at major venues throughout the nation.”

The band, which boasts “the fastest extreme drummer” Justin Spencer, is known for being an underground live show that has coined phrases like “power percussion” and “junk rock.” Playing on everything from ladders to industrial containers, the band fuses hip-hop and funk with the talent of three drummers and a DJ.

Those interested in purchasing tickets can do so through the Athletic Department at Hershey Hall from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Monday through Friday, or call 260.665.4168 for more information. Cahoots Coffee Cafe, located on Maumee St. in Angola, will also be selling tickets. Tickets are $7.50 in advance and $10 at the door.
