Angola, Ind.—Tri-State University is pleased to announce that their Tutor Training Program has been recertified for five years by the College Reading and Learning Association International Tutor Program (CRLA).
According to Kathie Wentworth, Director of Academic Support Services at TSU, the program has been certified since 2002. All tutors who assist other students in the Learning Center must receive a certification. The program will issue certificates to tutors who meet 10 hours of training and 25 hours of tutoring. The TSU Learning Center provides student tutors who offer one-on-one academic assistance in a variety of areas.
A tutor training session will take place on Wednesday, August 30 from 6-9 p.m. New and returning tutors are required to attend both Wednesday and Thursday evenings.
CLRA is a member of the Council for the Advancement of Standards in Higher Education.
