Bachelor of Business Administration

The Bachelor of Business Administration degree is designed for adult students who want a well-balanced, functional business degree.  All SPS business majors are required to take the eleven courses found in the business core:

In addition to the Business Core, each student selects an
academic major from offerings that will serve to specialize the degree into a field of the student’s interest. The program can be further designed to include other majors, if desired. 

The academic majors within the Bachelor of Business
Administration have 11 classes (33 hours) of specialized
coursework. Majors are available in the following areas:

Human Resources Management
Management

Accounting
No organization can survive without managing its money. That is just one of the reasons the accountant is a vital member of the management team. Career opportunities include public accounting, managerial accounting, governmental accounting, accounting for not-for-profit organizations, and accounting for other specialized settings.

Courses in the accounting major include:

Six (6) hours of 300 or 400 level electives prefixed by AC, BA, CS, FIN, LAW, MGT, MK

Human Resources Management


The Human Resources department of any organization is
responsible for all aspects of the employee’s experience with the company. Each company, whether public, private, for profit, or not for profit, needs the human resources personnel to provide the benefits, policies and procedures, resulting in career opportunities in virtually every business. 

Courses in the human resources management major include:

Management

In any business, it is the role of the manager to provide leadership to keep the organization headed in the right direction.  The manager must have good “people” skills and a good grasp of business knowledge. The SPS management major is designed to provide the background skills necessary for effective management.
