Head Coach Greg Perschke
Coach
Greg Perschke, who begins his ninth year at Tri-State University
and the seventh year as the Thunder's head coach. Perschke
brings nine years of experience as a professional pitcher to the
Thunder Baseball team. Coach Perschke led the Thunder to a fourth
place finish in the WHAC, one game short of qualifying for the NAIA
Region VIII Tournament. He spent most of his professional baseball
career with the White Sox organization. Greg resides in Angola with
his wife, Trisha, and their ten-year-old daughter, Brookston and
six-year-old son Brock. He holds a bachelor's degree in communications
from the University of New Orleans.
Assistant Coach Jacob Kinsey

Jacob Kinsey begins his third season as a member of the TSU baseball staff. His primary responsibilities will be working with the outfielders.
Coach Kinsey earned his undergraduate degree from MacMurray College in Jacksonville, Ill. He received a Bachelor of Arts in sport management with minors in business administration and psychology in 2004. While at MacMurray; Kinsey lettered in football receiving 1st Team All-Conference. He was also a member of two conference championship teams.
After graduation from MacMurray, Kinsey was a graduate assistant at Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, Tenn. His primary duty was coaching the linebackers. In July of 2005, Kinsey received his master’s degree in sports administration in July of 2005. Kinsey is also an assistant coach for the Thunder football team.
Assistant Coach Jon Walmer
Jon
Walmer returns to the Thunder coaching staff for his fourth season. Walmer will be the junior varsity coach as well as assist the varsity team.
Walmer was a three-year starter for
the Thunder baseball team from 2002-2004. He graduated from Tri-State
in 2004 with a degree in business management.
While a member of the Tri-State baseball team, Walmer was named
a Daktronics-NAIA Scholar Athlete in the 2003 and 2004 seasons.
On the field, he was named team Co-MVP in 2003 and 2004 and team
captain his senior year. Walmer is also the recruiting coordinator at TSU.
Assistant Coach Nick Pfafman
Nick Pfafman enters his second season as a member of the TSU baseball coaching staff. He was a two-year member of the Tri-State baseball team and ended his playing career in 2006. In his senior season, Pfafman was selected as a member of the All-MIAA Second Team for his performance on the diamond. His primary responsibilities with the team include working with the hitters and first basemen.
Pfafman graduated from TSU in 2006 with a degree in social science and a history minor.
